{"id":1023,"date":"2026-06-12T06:07:45","date_gmt":"2026-06-11T21:07:45","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/otemachi.blog\/toastmasters\/?p=1023"},"modified":"2026-06-12T06:07:47","modified_gmt":"2026-06-11T21:07:47","slug":"2026-6-10-otmc-meeting-report","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/otemachi.blog\/toastmasters\/2026\/06\/12\/2026-6-10-otmc-meeting-report\/","title":{"rendered":"2026\/6\/10 OTMC Meeting Report"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#x1f389; OTMC 204th Regular Meeting Summary &#x1f389;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Theme: Gratitude &#x1f64f;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Our president, Frank, opened the meeting by reminding us that June 10th is celebrated in Japan as Time Day, making it a perfect opportunity to appreciate one of the most important Toastmasters roles\u2014the Timer! &#x23f0;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Toastmaster of the Evening Ayesha then guided us through an inspiring meeting centered on gratitude, while Tomoko introduced the Word of the Evening: \u201cheartfelt.\u201d &#x2764;&#xfe0f;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#x1f3af; Table Topics<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Table Topics Master Rintaro invited speakers to reflect on gratitude.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Highlights included:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Max expressing gratitude for his wife\u2019s daily breakfast.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Taka sharing a heartfelt family dinner celebrating his daughter\u2019s graduation and new career.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Kei recalling his father\u2019s advice: \u201cAlways appreciate your wife.\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Carlos humorously reflecting on a lesson learned from his first evaluation speech.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Guest Isha sharing how ChatGPT helped her discover OTMC as a refugee. &#x1f916;&#x1f30d;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#x1f3a4; Prepared Speeches<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Akane (Lesson Learned in Singapore) shared how meaningful connections can be built even without understanding every word.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Daseul (From Anger to Action) spoke about transforming frustration into motivation and using action to overcome challenges. &#x1f4aa;&#x1f525;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#x1f4dd; Evaluation Highlights<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Kozue praised Akane\u2019s message about communication beyond language, while Joju commended Daseul\u2019s honest storytelling and powerful structure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">General Evaluator Frank highlighted Tomoko\u2019s Word of the Evening, heartfelt, and Hidenori\u2019s insightful explanations of Japanese-English expressions such as heartful \u2192 heartfelt and baby car \u2192 baby stroller.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#x1f3c6; Tonight\u2019s Winners<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#x1f947; Best Table Topics Speaker: Isha (Guest)<br>&#x1f947; Best Evaluator: Joju<br>&#x1f947; Best Speaker: Daseul<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#x1f4e2; Business Session<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Members approved a membership fee revision effective July 1, 2026, and elected the 2026\u20132027 Executive Committee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Thank you to everyone who participated and contributed to another memorable OTMC meeting filled with gratitude, learning, and inspiration.
