The atmosphere was truly remarkable—a theme that resonated through every segment of our historic evening. 🚀

1. Table Topics: The Power of 2️⃣0️⃣0️⃣ 🤔

Table Topics Master Takako challenged us with questions themed around the number 200, sparking some remarkable impromptu stories:

200-Second Superpower: Ted (club founder) humorously considered running away from the pressure, but stayed to deliver a moving tribute to the club’s growth.

200-Day Diet: Joju committed to 200 days of Biryani 🍛, sharing a nostalgic tale of a cafeteria chef who sparked her lifelong love for the dish.

200-Day Sacrifice: Maki confessed that giving up scuba diving 🤿 would be her toughest challenge, especially with a trip to the Philippines on the horizon.

200-Yen Challenge: Hidenori would spend 200 yen on water 💧 to stay hydrated while developing a generative AI designed to capture true human emotions.

2. Prepared Speeches 🎤✨

We were treated to three masterful speeches that showcased the diversity of our club, each providing a remarkable look into the speaker’s world:

Frank defined OTMC as a “Great Third Place”—the essential spot between work and home. He shared a humble “confession” about his own early speech failures to remind us that our club is built on the courage to try. 🦁

Max Yano delivered a remarkable Japanese speech on the art of Competitive Karuta. This was the very same powerful performance he brought to the District Contest, and we were honored to witness his experience performing this traditional game for audiences in Europe. 🃏

Carlos moved us with “Borrowed Confidence.” 🎹 He reflected on how his 6-year-old daughter, Yurika, taught him that when self-belief falters, we can find strength in those who believe in us. 🏆💖

3. The Spirit of OTMC: Marie’s Reflection🛡️

General Evaluator Marie took us back to a defining moment in our history—the move from Shinagawa to Otemachi. It wasn’t always easy; there was a time when the club faced the possibility of closing. But the members stood firm with a remarkable determination, focusing on three legendary KPIs:

Fill every speech slot to build a strong foundation.

Pursue core quality in every single meeting.

Welcome new guests with open arms to revitalize our community.

That grit is exactly what created the welcoming, high-quality “vibe” we enjoy today! 🛡️✨

🏆 Tonight’s Superstars 🏆

The votes are in, and tonight’s winners reached a remarkable peak! 🌟

Best Table Topics Speaker: Joju 🥇

Best Evaluator: Daseul 🧐✨

Best Prepared Speaker: Max Yano 🎤✨

The next 200 meetings start now!
