1. 🔍 Visit a Club as a Guest
- Start by attending a Toastmasters club meeting as a guest—no obligation to join right away.
- You can attend up to 3 times to see if the club atmosphere fits you.
2. 📝 Apply for Membership
- If you decide to join, you’ll need to fill out a membership application form.
3. 💰 Pay the Membership Fees
- New member fee: ¥3,000 yen (one-time fee) -> Please note new member fee will be raised soon due to the decision by Toastmasters International [2025/09/25 UPD]
- Membership dues: ¥10,500 every 6 months (1,750✖️6) in Mar and Sep
- Toshi (treasurer) will tell you how much will be for your membership start from Aug
4. 🎓 Start Pathways Learning Program
- Once you join, you’ll choose a Pathways path—a learning track based on your goals.
- Examples include:
- Presentation Mastery
- Effective Coaching
- Leadership Development

5. 🎤 Deliver Your Icebreaker Speech
- Your first speech is called the Icebreaker—a 4 to 6-minute talk to introduce yourself to the club.
- It’s the first official project in your chosen path.
6. 🔄 Participate Regularly
- At each meeting, members rotate through various roles:
- Prepared speeches
- Speech evaluations
- Impromptu speaking (Table Topics)
- Timer, Ah-Counter, Grammarian, etc.
- This helps you grow communication and leadership skills in a supportive environment!
🤝 Mentoring Program
You will be paired with an experienced member who will serve as your personal mentor.
Your mentor will support you in the following areas:
- Becoming familiar with the club’s culture and meeting flow
- Choosing the right Pathways learning path based on your goals
- Preparing and practicing your Icebreaker speech
- Understanding and performing meeting roles such as Timer, Grammarian, and Toastmaster of the Day
