TMOE Mat brought together members and guests for an inspiring evening centered around the theme of “Achievement.”
From personal milestones and overcoming challenges to supporting others and stepping outside our comfort zones, the meeting reminded us that achievements come in many different forms.

7 guests also introduced themselves and shared their reasons for joining the meeting, including improving their public speaking skills, meeting new people, and learning from others.

💡 Word of the Evening: “TREMENDOUS”

TM Takako introduced “tremendous” as the Word of the Evening—a perfect word for describing extraordinary achievements.

🎤 Table Topics – Our Achievements

The Table Topics session, led by TM Chloe, invited members to reflect on their achievements and experiences.

One particularly interesting question asked participants to imagine meeting their 10-year-old selves and think about what they would tell their younger selves about what they have accomplished.

Members shared a variety of achievements and aspirations.

🗣️ Prepared Speeches

Three fascinating speeches were delivered during the prepared speech session.

❤️ Tomoko shared a powerful storytelling speech about experiencing a medical emergency and her recovery. Her speech included humor aligning with her project.

🇵🇭 Hitomi completed her first speech with a confidence and full of smiles. She introduced the audience to aspects of Philippine culture, exploring how people can find joy even during difficult times. And connected her passion to join OTMC.

🌎 Joju shared a memorable story about supporting a fellow Toastmaster at the World Championship of Public Speaking in Vancouver. His speech highlighted the importance of stepping outside our comfort zones and supporting others in pursuing their goals.

👏 Tremendous Achievement by OTMC!

One of the biggest highlights of the business session was the announcement of a remarkable club achievement.

An OTMC member completed the Distinguished Toastmaster (DTM) project with 20 members and 10 full points, making OTMC one of only four clubs in Japan to achieve this milestone.

This was truly a tremendous achievement and a wonderful example of what can happen when members support each other and work toward ambitious goals together.

We also celebrate Takako and Daseul for their hospitality for the latest Beer Party 🍻

🌟 Guest Feedback

The evening concluded with encouraging feedback from our guests.

Several guests praised OTMC’s warm atmosphere, supportive members, and efficient meeting structure. Some mentioned that they felt comfortable participating even though they initially felt nervous, while others expressed their intention to return to future meetings.

These comments were a wonderful reminder of the welcoming culture that OTMC strives to create.
