We are proud to announce that Otemachi Toastmasters Club has achieved Smedley Distinguished Club status, the highest level of recognition in Toastmasters International’s Distinguished Club Program (DCP),

At our regular meeting on September 9th, Division F Director Hidefumi Kidachi attended and presented a commemorative plaque to former OTMC President Frank.

Smedley Distinguished represents the highest standard of club achievement. To earn this recognition, a club must:

✅ Achieve all 10 of the Distinguished Club Program goals
✅ Maintain at least 25 members
✅ Meet all required administrative and program requirements

The 10 goals cover multiple aspects of club excellence, including member education and achievement, membership growth, leadership training, and effective club administration.

In other words, this is not simply an award for a successful year. It represents a well-rounded, thriving Toastmasters club in which members actively support one another’s growth and achievement.

Today, Smedley Distinguished is an especially significant achievement in Japan. Only 6 Toastmasters clubs in Japan are recognized at this level, making this a truly exceptional accomplishment.

For Otemachi Toastmasters Club, this achievement reflects the dedication of our members, club officers, mentors, and the entire community.

We are proud of what we have accomplished together — and even more excited about what comes next.
