🎉 OTMC 205th Regular Meeting Summary 🎉

Theme: The Power of Commitment 💪✨

The first meeting of the new Toastmasters year, President Joju opened the evening by sharing his vision for OTMC. He highlighted three guiding principles for the club: Connection, Growth, and Innovation. 

He encouraged members to build stronger relationships, challenge themselves to grow as communicators and leaders, and remain open to new ideas that will help the club thrive in the year ahead. His message set an inspiring tone for the new term. ✨

Before the regular program began, we celebrated a special milestone by officially welcoming two new members, Deni(Isha) and Hitomi, through an induction ceremony led by Vice President Membership Carlos. We are excited to have them join our OTMC family! 🎊

Toastmaster of the Evening Akane guided us through an inspiring evening centered on the theme, “The Power of Commitment,” reminding us that commitment is often the key to personal growth and achievement.

The word of the Evening was “ enlightened “, which was introduced by our new member Hitomi. It was the perfect word to start the new edition if OTMC.

1. Table Topics Session 

Table Topics Master Deni challenged participants with the theme “One Choice Can Change Everything.” This was also her first time to take this role👏

Members shared personal stories about life-changing decisions, including quitting a sport, joining new communities, volunteering for leadership roles, and learning the importance of speaking up. The session demonstrated how a single choice can open unexpected opportunities and shape our future paths. 🌱

2. Prepared Speeches 🎤

Kazuya — “The Answer Was Inside Me”

Kazuya reflected on his journey toward passing a promotion exam and becoming a senior staff member. Through the experience, he realized that success comes from recognizing and leveraging one’s strengths rather than focusing on weaknesses. His speech delivered a powerful message about self-awareness and personal growth. 🌟

Max — “Talk Over Beer”

Max took us on a fascinating journey through German beer culture, sharing stories from his experiences at a German-style tavern and introducing various beer styles and flavors. His informative and entertaining speech kept the audience engaged from beginning to end. 🍺

3. Evaluation Session 📝

Frank evaluated Kazuya’s speech, praising his improved eye contact and clear structure while encouraging him to further develop the deeper message behind his story.

Mat evaluated Max’s the beer-themed speech, highlighting its strong credibility and informative content while suggesting ways to make the audience experience the flavors more vividly.

General Evaluator Rintaro provided valuable feedback on the overall meeting and recognized the contributions of role takers and participants throughout the evening.

4. Club Highlights 🌟

A major highlight of the evening was the announcement that OTMC achieved 🏆Distinguished Club status🏆, an honor earned by only 6 out of 202 clubs in the district. Congratulations to everyone whose dedication made this achievement possible! 🏆

We also celebrated Carlos’s advancement to the Semi-Finals of the Toastmasters World Championship of Public Speaking, which will take place on August 20th. The entire club is cheering for his continued success! 🌍🎤
